Chuck Benedict Memorial Journalism Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Journalism
Student Profile: Glendale Community College journalism student planning on transferring to a 4-year university journalism program. Emphasis placed on the students' interest in sports journalism.
Special Requirements: Student must by referred by a Glendale Community College journalism professor. Academic achievement and financial need will be taken into consideration. An essay on journalism must be received with the scholarship application.
Average award: $1,000

Reinhart Family Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Any
Student Profile: Student must be a resident of Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose or Verdugo City for the past 5 years and must be attending Glendale Community College after a break in their education. Student is evaluated on the basis of financial need and a goal of an AA degree. There is no specific GPA required.

Tuesday Afternoon Club Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Any
Student Profile: Student must be in the Glendale Community College re-entry program. Financial need must be demonstrated, along with proof of U.S. citizenship and community service. The student should be able to show a potential for achievement and success, and self-motivation.
Special Requirements: In a scholarship statement, the student must discuss the importance of education. If qualified, the student will be considered for a personal interview.

The Shirley and Joel Youngquist Nursing Scholarship
College Major/Area of Study: Nursing
Student Profile: SStudent must be in the nursing program at Glendale Community College and must have residency in Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose or Verdugo City for the past three years. Students are evaluated on the basis of financial need. The student must have a goal of obtaining at least an AA degree in nursing, and there is no specific GPA required. The award may be renewable, but is not automatic.
Special Requirement: A scholarship statement on the importance of nursing must be received with the scholarship application.
