Our Mission
To build enduring resources for the benefit of people in the Verdugo area. For good. For ever. The mission of The Community Foundation of the Verdugos is to provide counsel to donors and financial support to diverse needs in the communities we serve.
Vision Statement
The Community Foundation of the Verdugos is looked to as the premiere philanthropic organization in the Verdugo area by upholding integrity, honesty and compassion in everything we do.
About Us
The Community Foundation of the Verdugos provides financial support to a broad range of charitable and educational endeavors within the geographic area served by the Foundation. It is the goal of the Foundation to provide philanthropic leadership and act as a catalyst in identifying and addressing evolving community needs. Financial support to the community is accomplished by administering/dispersing gifts and grants according to donor wishes or by using the income earned from unrestricted gift investments toward a permanently endowed fund for charitable distribution via grants back to area non-profits. Charitable financial support is also provided through student loans and scholarships. As a public charity, the Community Foundation of the Verdugos takes its obligation to operate in the public eye and the public interest very seriously. Accordingly, we make our informational federal tax filings, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt Internal Revenue Service letters, and our financial statements available to the public. Just contact us at (818) 241-8040, fax (818) 241-8045, or email: info@communityfoundationoftheverdugos.org to request a copy.

- Making grants and providing philanthropic counsel and assistance that will have a significant impact upon the recipients.
- Promoting collaboration among funding persons and service providers to address community needs.
- Providing a flexible, efficient and lasting way for donors to benefit our community.
- The Community Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of leaders from all over the community who serve on a volunteer basis. It is administered by paid staff members.
